Patrick Graff

CREO Graduate Student

Patrick is a fourth year Sociology PhD student in the Center for Research on Educational Opportunity (CREO) and a Burns Fellow in the Program for Interdisciplinary Education Research (PIER). After teaching third grade and working with first and second year teachers as Associate Director of Notre Dame's Master of Education program, Patrick returned to graduate school with a particular interest in teacher quality, the impacts of teacher characteristics on student learning, and teacher well-being. His research includes projects on the impacts of student assignment to a same-race teacher, the effects of teacher mobility on student achievement, the use of emergency teacher licensure, the effects of school climate and working conditions on teachers, and changes in school organizations as a result of participation in the Indiana Choice Scholarship Program.
