Eve is a fourth-year graduate student in the Department of Sociology and a research assistant with the Center for Research Educational Opportunity (CREO). Her areas of study include Sociology of Education, Race and Ethnicity, and Qualitative Methods. She joined the Department after receiving her MA in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2014. Her MA thesis was an analysis of 46 interviews with multiracial college students about their identity choices and majoring in a STEM field.Eve’s current work focuses on the underrepresentation of women and minorities in STEM college majors and on expressions of colour-blind ideology and belief in meritocracy among STEM and non-STEM college majors
