CREO Graduate Student
Eve is a PhD Candidate in Sociology at the University of Notre Dame. She is affiliated with the Center for Research Educational Opportunity and the Institute for Latino Studies. She joined the Department after receiving her MA in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2014. Her MA thesis was an analysis of 46 interviews with multiracial college students about their identity choices and majoring in a STEM field. She earned her BA in Politics and International Studies with a minor in Race and Culture from Middlesex University and an MSc in Global Politics from Birkbeck, University of London.
One strand of Eve’s work focuses on the underrepresentation of women and minorities in STEM college majors and on expressions of colour-blind ideology and belief in meritocracy among STEM and non-STEM college majors. Her dissertation examines the socio-political and cultural context for multiracial and multiethnic identity development, group formation, and intergroup relations in Copenhagen, Denmark. Eve is currently away conducting fieldwork.
