CREO Alumni

Krist Donaldson is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Sociology and the Center for Research on Educational Opportunity. Her dissertation examines the expansion of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in the United States. In this project, she illustrates how the growth of this rigorous program has maintained and exacerbated inequality through its geographic placement and the racial/ethnic segregation of students within and between schools.

Kristi is also working with Mark Berends on projects comparing the use and organization of ability grouping in charter and traditional public schools, instructional differences across ability groups, and middle-school math topic coverage and instruction. For the 2016-17 year, she is the Graduate Student Coordinator of the new Ph.D. program, Notre Dame Program for Interdisciplinary Education Research (ND PIER).
