Frontiers in Sociology of Education, edited by Professor Maureen Hallinan, was released on June 26, 2011 and was on display at Springer Publisher’s booth during the Annual Meeting of the American Sociological Association in August. Maureen Hallinan, a pioneering academic spirit in the field of Sociology of Education, is the first editor of a new series of forward looking volumes that addresses how to approach thinking about and solving tomorrow’s educational dilemmas. The Frontiers’ authors/sociologists aim to offer new and creative approaches to research and theory that can be put into action in a timely manner such that feasible solutions to problems facing tomorrow’s educational system and children can be realized.
Professor Hallinan is the author of more than 120 articles, the author of one book, and the editor of eight books. Among her edited volumes are The Handbook of the Sociology of Education (2000) and School Sectors and Student Outcomes (2006).
Maureen has dedicated Frontiers in Sociology of Education to the late Warren Kubitschek, our dear friend and colleague.
