Mary Kate Blake, Ph.D. Candidate in Sociology and CREO, along with her Ph.D. advisor William Carbonaro, was recently awarded $25,000 from the William T. Grant Foundation through their Officer's Research Grant. The grant was awarded in support of her dissertation "Disadvantaged Students and High School Counselors: Institutional Barriers to Academic, College, and Personal Counseling." Mary Kate's project was chosen because of its potential impact on educational inequality and identification for institutional levers for change. Congratulations, Mary Kate!
