Junior Level Tenure-Track Position in CREO and Department of Sociology at the University of Notre Dame
The Center for Research on Educational Opportunity (CREO) invites applications for a tenure-track, junior level position with a joint appointment in CREO and the Department of Sociology beginning August 2010. We seek candidates with evidence of a rigorous research program in sociology of education and with excellent teaching skills. We welcome applications from new PhDs and persons with some experience. We will begin reviewing applications on December 1, 2009 and continue until the position is filled. The Center for Research on Educational Opportunity at the
Institute for
Educational Initiatives, University of Notre Dame, will have one
postdoctoral fellowship available in 2009-2010.
We welcome applicants who have specialized in the sociology
of education.
Candidates must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States
and
must have completed all requirements for the doctorate by the time of
the
initial appointment.
Postdoctoral
researchers are asked to participate in the intellectual community of
the Center
for Research on Educational Opportunity and the Sociology Department
and to
further their own intellectual development and research. Researchers
will have
full access to the Institute's and Sociology Department's collective
resources
in computing, print/data libraries, and administrative services.
Faculty in the
Institute come from the departments of Sociology, Psychology, and
Economics,
and the Fellows associated with the Institute come from a broad range
of
disciplines.
